The workshop will take place at Estancia Renacimiento, located near Atlántida, a nice Uruguayan coastal locality, approximately 45 km east of Montevideo. The venue was selected because it provides a quiet and informal setting that encourages discussion and interaction among participants, in keeping with the spirit of the 2019 Borrego Springs workshop.
Accommodation for invited speakers will be provided by the organisers.
In addition, a limited number of students will be offered free shared accommodation at the venue. This accommodation consists of two dormitory-style rooms (one intended for women and one for men), each equipped with 16 bunk beds, providing a total capacity of 32 beds in each room.
As the number of places is limited, they will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the order in which requests are received during registration.
Participants wishing to make use of this accommodation should indicate their interest when registering.
Participants who are not invited speakers and who do not obtain a place in the shared accommodation will be encouraged to stay in Atlántida, where a wide range of hotels, hostels and rental accommodation is available.
Apart from the avaiable public transportation, the organising committee expects to arrange daily transportation between Atlántida and the workshop venue, departing in the morning before the start of the sessions and returning after the end of each day's programme.
Detailed travel information will be provided closer to the event.
This page will include practical guidance for travelling to the venue from:
Carrasco International Airport (Montevideo)
The Port of Montevideo
Tres Cruces Bus Terminal (Montevideo)
Information will be provided for both public transportation and private vehicles, together with maps and estimated travel times.
Field Visit
Weather permitting, an optional field excursion to the Arroyo del Vizcaíno palaeontological site will be organised immediately after the workshop. Further details will be announced in due course.
